Master class dance workshop with performer Jen Shyu: https://www.jenshyu.com/

Time and location to be determined.

This "You Are Everything" intermedia improvisation workshop is a special performance/creativity workshop that Jen Shyu has been developing and refining since its inception in 2011 when she was living in Indonesia on her Fulbright scholarship, working with traditional and contemporary Javanese artists. She has customized it for professional artists of all disciplines (music, dance, theater, visual art, etc.) as well as non-artists (and often a mixture of both) around the world in multiple languages.

What you’ll gain from this workshop are some creative tools for building bridges with each other through song exchange and songwriting, interactive poetry, movement, theater, and improvisation games, which will encourage getting over one’s shyness in artistic expression and trying something new, even for those with more artistic experience. This stepping out of one’s comfort zone and claiming oneself as “everything” (meaning as a scholar, singer, dancer, musician, poet, actor, actress, or anything else that you are studying or are interested in!) will help you in whatever field you are in, be it in public speaking or giving a presentation, teaching, or managing a company.

What to bring:

--A pen and small notebook or just some paper for yourself to write on

--Please wear comfortable clothes for easily moving around in; we’ll be able to take off our shoes as the floor is a dance floor.

--If you have instruments or anything else that makes noise, etc. or an instrument you don't even know how to play or are rusty on, you’re welcome to bring them!
