ILSSA Outing: Speaking of Feminism
ILSSA would like to invite you to our first monthly ILSSA outing event! We will be attending the book talk, “Speaking of Feminism: A conversation about feminist activism of the past, present, and future.” This talk will be held at Flyleaf Books from 7PM-8:30 on September 27, 2019. Here is a little bit about the event from the organizer:
“From the Women’s Marches to the #MeToo movement, it is clear that feminist activism is still alive and well in the 21st century. But how does a new generation of activists understand the work of the movement today? Rachel F. Seidman, Director of the Southern Oral History Program in UNC-Chapel Hill’s Center for the Study of the American South, presents insights from 25 feminist activists from around the United States in her new book, Speaking of Feminism: Today’s Activists on the Past, Present, and Future of the U.S. Women’s Movement. Join us for wine, cheese, and a conversation between Professor Seidman and one of the stars of her book, Ivanna Gonzalez, cofounder of the Who Needs Feminism campaign and deputy director of Blueprint NC.”
