From Silos to Synergy: Help Shape the Future of Community-Campus Partnerships!
The UNC Engaged Scholarship Series (ESS) aims to bring together community and campus partners to share experiences and strengthen relationships. ESS is open to all community members and campus members who already are or would like to be involved in community-engaged work.
-
What is engaged scholarship? One definition is scholarly collaboration focused on the social, civic, economic, educational, artistic, scientific, environmental, and cultural well-being of people and places beyond the academic institution.
-
Why is this series important? Community-campus or community-academic partnerships offer unique opportunities for everyone to benefit from shared resources and expertise. Authentic and effective partnerships take time and special care to ensure all parties involved are valued and have their needs met.
-
Who is this series for? Community members are people who live in North Carolina including those who work or volunteer at local nonprofits, governments, or other organizations. Campus members are people who work or study at UNC including faculty, researchers, staff, and students.
